Bakuman S2: episode 17

This was an awesome episode. But I am sad to see Nakai leave the picture, but it
is his fault. He could have landed the whole of being the lead artist on Aoki’s
manga, but he had to be a stupid person. Now Takahama’s Business Boy Keniichi is
ending and Nakai’s job along with it. Nakai then had the gull to call Aoki for
an assistant job. Why would you do that after what happened? Like Aoki said the
first thing he should have been saying was that he was deeply sorry for the way
he treated her. I bet that if he would have stuck with Aoki and kept trying to
get her love he would have eventually got it. But instead he acted will slob
and changed focus as soon as another girl that he thought was cute came into the
picture. He should be disgusted with himself. He professed undying love to Aoki
while still drawing Trapdoor, but when Aoki would not say that she loved him he
moved on. And now he has been rejected by two girls. He got rejected by Aoki or
so he thought and now he has been rejected by Katou.

It would seem that Tantou by Mashiro and Takagi did not serialized. But Aoki’s
manga did get serialized and most of the thanks probably goes to Fukuda for
coaching on how to draw a proper panty shot. I feel bad for Miyoshi because now
she has wait even longer to get married to Takagi. She was all excited and
everything. She even had gotten the marriage registration form already. She was
ready to go.

It would seem that the Manuscript that Iwase wrote with the help from Hattori is
pretty good. He is skipping all convention and heading straight for a
serialization meeting. He is even getting Niizuma to draw it for him. But
Niizuma actually imposed the requirement for a serialization to draw it. Hattori
and Niizuma are planning on using to fire up Mashiro and Takagi again. I am
always astounding by Niizuma’s ability. Both Hattori and Yuujiro are cunning
bastards.

Bakuman S2: Episode 16

This is a week and half late, but here is Bakuman Season 2 episode 16. A lot
of this episode revolved around Aoki and the problems that she is having
with her manga. She was having a major problem drawing panty shots like her
editor wanted. That is how Nakai ended up getting slapped in face was
because she wanted him to work with her again. But he had imposed a very
ridiculous demand that she date for him for doing so. Thus he got slapped.

So Aoki now has shown up with Miyoshi at Mashiro and Takagi’s studio to
apologize to Mashiro for the problems that she caused. She related her
problem to Mashiro and then he and Takagi sat there brainstorming about ways
to help Aoki. The only thing they were able to come up with was asking that
guy that Takagi punched in Middle School Ishizawa to do the panty shots for
Aoki. But this idea did not turn out so well because he wanted Aoki to
actually do some modeling.

While all this was going on Fukuda was on his way over to Takahama’s to try
and correct Nakai’s rather bad behavior. But this ended with Nakai crying
because he felt rather comfortable just being an assistant with Katou. Katou
was surprised to learn that Nakai had feelings for her. She looked very
repulsed by the very idea. Nakai ended getting punched by Fukuda. Fukuda
leaves in storm and heads to where Aoki, Takagi, Miyoshi were meeting
Ishizawa at.

Fukuda ends up coaching Aoki in the ways of the panty shot and it seems that
Aoki rather enjoys the coaching. Over time Aoki’s drawings get better and it
seems that she is now up for serialization along with Mashiro and Takagi.

It would seem that Iwase has kept up on her promise to start drawing manga
in order to compete with Takagi. Damn she considers Takagi to be her biggest
rival and it does not seem that he looks at the same way at all. At this
point he probably just wishes that he would stay out of the picture. Then
again he does not know that she has brought in her first written work to
none other than Hattori.

So now has showed up with Miyoshi at Mashiro and Takagi’s studio to apologize to Mashiro for the problems that she caused.

Phi Brain 16

This episode it was Galileo’s turn to tackle a puzzle. This one used the waterways of Venice as its setting. Galileo had to Navigate his way through a maze of waterways and was timed doing it. But this puzzle was in the vein of all the recent in that they were designed without solutions. If it would not have been for Einstein interfering by Galileo’s terms at the very he could very well be dead. This ticked Galileo off and he has sworn to out do Einstein and the others.

This all started when a POG disguised as Jigukawa told them that the POG made the airways out of England a literal mess. But this of course a ploy to lure them all to Venice. What tipped Galileo off that this person was not really Jigukawa was the fact that he was drinking Orange Juice instead of Jigukawa’s favorite apple juice. Holy shit does Galileo keep close tabs on people. Then again if he even considers these people his friends he better know small things about them. Then again he could be keeping small details on Jigukawa because he knows that Jigukawa is a member of the POG.

On the Jigukawa note. He went to meet with Rook to ask him some questions about the whole Phi Brain mission anyways. He played Rook in game of chess the whole time basically talking to himself. He kept asking question even though Rook was never answering them. He apparently was watching Rooks reactions to the questions and to what was happening on the Giant TV screen in the room with them.

Bakuman S2: Episode 15

Well the relationship troubles that Takagi, Miyoshi, Mashiro, and Azuki were having all are resolved with this episode. Takagi got feed up with the way that Mashiro was acting and decided to come clean about what was going on. But it was almost ruined when he met Aoki at zoo by accident and she ran into his arms. Miyoshi had just shown up and saw them and thought that Takagi was just trying to show off. It forced Takagi to move up his plans to propose to Miyoshi. they plan to get married after Takagi gets serialized again.

I was just as surprised as Takagi and Miyoshi about how honest Aoki was. She told them that she had no justifiable reason to hug Takagi and then went and told Miyoshi that she was beginning to like Takagi. She just wanted to help Takagi though. In the end Miyoshi decided that Takagi and Aoki were still allowed to talk to each other as long as Aoki became Miyoshi friends. This ends with Miyoshi, Takagi, Azuki, and Aoki at a cafe having some tea and Mashiro at first being confused at the text message he got from Azuki. But then he reasserts that he wants to become the best manga artist ever.

It was pretty cool that Tanto which is the manga that Takagi and Mashiro had in NEXT won first. It was even awesome that Aoki place second to them. But then Aoki’s editor listened to input of Yoshida and tried to get Aoki to work with Nakai again. Aoki decides that she will talk to Nakai in person. So they met at cafe and the meeting ended with Aoki slapping Nakai because of his condition for working with her again. I agree with Aoki that Nakai was being a horrible to impose the condition that she date him to work with her. He should have wanted to work with her because they had the potential to create some great manga together. Obviously Nakai only cares about getting a girlfriend out of the whole deal.

So Rook what just being an evil person because he wanted to be an evil person. It is apparent after this episode that Rook has suffered a lot at the hands of the POG. They forcefully reprogrammed him to be this evil emotionless bastard. But it seems that after learning that the puzzle he had intended to give to Einstein as a kid still existed and was found has set off and maybe will set free his emotions. Could we Rook give up his mission for the POG in order to be reunited with Einstein?

I can’t believe that Edison would take seriously what anyone in the POG said to him. IF he is that smart he should have seen the tactic for what it is. A divide and conquer strategy. Edison almost bit the bait there for a minute. But it seems that he snapped out of it.

I have to give props to Anna though. Ana never bought into anything the POG was saying. Everything Anna did was because Anna loves everyone in the group deeply. I don’t think I would have been able to solve that puzzle without the hint. But Anna just charged right in. Way to go Anna.

Every time Einstein’s face was shown I thought to myself that the animators are getting very lazy. This was a pretty badly animated episode for this series. I just hope that it does not get any worse than this. I just feel like slapping someone right now because I was put through watching this. But I don’t want to rant about animation quality because I never intend on doing that. So let’s dive into the episode with abandon.

Rook is playing the part of the evil person very because now he is aiming indirectly at Einstein by aiming at his friends. He was been able to sow doubt in Edison’s mind that Kaito considers him a friend. It really sucks because that puzzle giver told Edison that the puzzle he solved was made by Rook when he turned five. Of course it has to expected that Rook was a very smart lad or he would not be in the position of power he holds right now. the position includes being able to torture a rather insecure person. But who am I judge?

Einstein wanted to pursue Rook the second he woke up in hospital, but that Galileo got his way. At least Galileo, Nonoha, and Ana have not been affected by Rook’s evil ways yet. But the attitude that Einstein had could have scared me away in an instant. If Rook never plays his games with them then Einsteins anger will probably be the equivalent of Rooks evil plot. OR should I be saying Pythagoras’ evil plot?

Bakuman S2: Episode 14

So now Takagi’s problem has gotten Mashiro in trouble with Azuki. Oh how the world and relationships work. I just do not get why Takagi even kept that book after telling Iwase that he preferred Miyoshi over her. Takagi should have just thrown the book away right after meeting her. To me that shows that he might have some feelings for her, but then again to could be as reminder of who one is rivals are. Still throwing out the book probably would have been a very good idea or at least it should have been kept somewhere that Miyoshi would have never found it.

The problem also gets worse because Mashiro was not able to explain properly to Azuki what was going on with Takagi even though in my opinion it had nothing to do with her. If Miyoshi was truly worried about that problem the confrontation would have sooner. But now Takagi has dug himself hole and now has to try and climb out it. But I do not think coming clean with solve all the problems because he should have told Miyoshi his plans from the beginning. That could have made this problem never happen in the first place. I always figured that Miyoshi and Takagi had a pretty tight bond, but I guess I was wrong.

Hey, at least Takagi and Mashiro were able to finish their manuscript to NEXT. But it seems that no one believes they should be doing any type of Gag manga. Everyone believes that they should be doing a story manga and probably a more dark one at that. Something along the lines of what they did in Money and Intelligence or TRAPDOOR. It seems that Nizuma has become very unmotivated because he believes that Mashiro and Takagi are moving in the wrong direction. Even Hattori believes they are moving in the wrong. I always get that feeling that Hattori wishes he were their Editor again.

I really want to know what the point of Hirumaru is in all of this? He just seems to readily manipulated by Yoshida so that way Yoshida can say that he was the editor of a popular series. I can’t even feel sorry for Hirumaru anymore. He just lend himself to any manipulation that Yoshida has. He is just that spineless character much like Nakai has become concerning Aoki. A lot time was spent in the first season and in this season building up Nakai’s devotion to Aoki and how much he loved and that all went away in less than a couple episodes.

Phi Brain Episode 13

A lot of plot development happened in this episode. Rook just outed himself to Einstein as a member of the POG. And that he is in fact the #2 person in the POG with only Pythagoras being ahead of him. There is also the Headmaster of Root Academy and Jigukawa out themselves to Einstein’s friends as members of the POG. But at least it seems that they do not have the same goals as Rook and Pythagoras. That is because they have decided to help Nonoha and the others get to him.

Unfortunately they are a little late to the party because Einstein has already solved the Fool’s Puzzle and almost died because of it. Einstein was pretty smart to kick that saw blade into that lift to open it or else he would have never been able to solve the puzzle. But it makes me wonder how strong Kaito really is because that saw looked like that it was made of some pretty heavy metal. But enough about that. At the end of the puzzle it seemed like Einstein lost all interest in puzzles because of Rook. The one person he thought he could trust and he turned out to be a part of enemy faction.

It seems that Rook has some issues with the way that their Mentor Jin Makata favored Einstein over him. It seems that both that both Jin and Einstein were solvers where as our villain Rook here is a giver, hence why he is part of the POG. It seems that Rook kind of actually wanted Einstein to die in the puzzle because of those existing issues, but he also wanted him to live because he wants Einsteins to develop into a full phi brain. But the only reason for that is because the POG wants to get at the treasure kept in the Puzzle of God. It seems that it is a treasure that would make a person a god. Let’s see what happens there.

Bakuman 13

Oh shit! Takagi messed the hell up by accepting that book from Iwase. Then again he did not know that there was that note from her inside the book. Then again I believe he messed up more seriously by talking with Aoki for as long as he did. And on two days nonetheless. Then he is planning to go and lie about it. Takagi is just make mistake after mistake in this episode. There is also the fact that he did not tell Aoki about Miyoshi being his girlfriend and Aoki seemed like she was starting to develop feelings for him. I wonder oh Takagi will deal with this mess.

At least Takagi and Mashiro have decided what they want to do with their next manga. They have decided to try and make another one as one-shot instead of going ahead with TEN. They plan to have it ready for the Next issue of Jack’s NEXT issue. Next is where mostly new manga artists try out their stuff. But Miura gave them the idea to try their One-shot there. It seems that even experienced manga artists use NEXT try out new ideas.

Phi Brain 10-12

Let’s start off with what happened in Episode 10. The episode starts off with Einstein giving glowing praise to Himekawa Elena for the puzzles that she makes. She is also the host of a show called Puzzle Kingdom. Let’s fast forward a little bit. Galileo is at an arcade and he is playing games with a girl named Antoinette, but it happens to be Elena. Galileo is very and sees suits entering. They are all gathering behind Elena and Galileo not knowing who she is feels compelled to help her. He takes her and runs out of the arcade. The bitch is apparently offended by this action and questions him on his rather nice action.

Another fast forward. Elena is given orders to challenge Galileo to a puzzle by the POG. No surprise there. If you are not on Einstein’s team you are either POG or that supposed Puzzle King. Well Einstein and Nonoha end up going with him and Einstein wants to solve the puzzle. The puzzle itself was designed by Elena to force the solver to be selfish. Two of solver’s Sit in chairs on the actual puzzle board. They are acting as dummies to make the puzzle harder. They serve the second function of trying to make the solver sacrifice someone in order to solve the puzzle. Of course Einstein solves the without doing so. But of course the president of the far east branch and to make it so elena could not prevent the inevitable. If Einstein had failed then they all would have died. Elena starts to realize that there are more important things than just a person themselves.

All I have to say is that the President of the Far East Branch is a huge dick to interfere like that. He went without telling Elena and changed how the puzzle controls worked. That is the ultimate dick move. My next question is how do these people get away with creating dangerous stuff like this? I would think that building standards would prevent stuff like this. And I still wonder where the POG gets funding from. Continue reading “Phi Brain 10-12”
